With Jace’s Mortal Kombat music video about to hit the 20 million view mark, on one of the most popular hip-hop websites on the planet, it’s clear that LeetMusic (a.k.a. Nerd music) is no longer an unknown genre.
In fact, there are a number of artists who continue to popularize the genre, all while making each song into their own. We’re taking the opportunity to give fans more insight into the world of Nerd music, in a way that only the artists themselves can reveal.

Check point 6 of 2011… #CrashCourse 9. Fresh off of the Abstract Music Group’s Spring Tour 2011 of the United States’ northeastern region, AMG’s Savant (aka Stanstro) links with Donuts & Milk to bring you the latest addition to his Crash Course Leak Series, the 7 emcee posse cut “State Bar AZ Cypher”. Laced, scratched and cut by Visions Of the Sun beatsmith Marvel76, and featuring bars from Visions Of the Sun emcees (Hexsagon, Fred Free & Casto), Random (aka MegaRan), Mr. Miranda and Medaforacle, the jawn serves as the definitive answer to the question: “What’s Arizona’s hip hop scene like”?Mar 8th
The northeastern portion of the country is in for a visit from newly formed urban music entity Abstract Music Group and their flagship artist, Savant aka Stanstro. In just one week, the RAREBREED emcee will be headlining his first tour of sorts as he leaves from Philadelphia on March 11th with fellow Abstract Music Group affiliates Rasheed Chappell and DJ Uneek (also of M.O.P.) and culminates in Boston on March 18th. Also performing on the Abstract Music Spring Tour 2011 (co-sponsored by Brooklyn Bodega) are John Public, Jake Lefco, Rising Sun Quest, Sketch the Cataclysm, Catch Wreck and OneThree Music affiliates ASN, Re-Surch and Purpose of the Tragic Allies. Diggers Union’s newest inductee, DJ Books will be manning the wheels of steel in Boston.
Slated to rock 5 locations, the Chicago bred Savant is touring mostly to promote the arrival of Abstract Music Group as a driving force in independent music, but also to promote his latest music endeavors, the leak series, “Crash Course” and the subsequent EP “Crash”. In “Crash Course”, Savant has been releasing a new record twice a month since December 2010, with the vast majority of the songs featuring at least one guest spot. This will continue until the May release of his sophomore project, the Fess Grandiose produced and ThaGoodLifeReviews.com co-sponsored “Crash”. You can catch up with Savant’s leak series at both his SoundCloud and BandCamp pages and his EP will be available from both his BandCamp and ThaGoodLifeReviews.com.
